Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder to add some extra protein- super good! We use these for our XC runner and softball tournaments!
Yes! We love adding protein powder as well. Thanks Tracy!
Hello I am excited to make these? How many scoops of protein powder would be a good addition to this recipe? Would almond butter be okay to substitute the peanut butter? Thank you!
Thanks Caitlin! It really depends on the scoop size, but when I add protein powder I usually add a scoop at a time and then as much as will still combine well and keeps the consistency. And yes, the almond butter will be a good substitute.
Could I use regular oats as I have no quick oats!
Hi Annie. Yes, you could use regular oats as a substitute .
My son is a college football player and snacks on these all the time! I freeze them in small batches and take them to him when we go to a game!
That’s great Patty! Glad he likes them. Thanks!
Was wondering if you have ever added flaxseed. If so how much?
Hi Lou. Yes, we have added 1/3 to a 1/2 cup of ground flaxseed to these energy bites as well.

Can these be frozen? If so, for how long? I’m due next month with baby #4 and I want to prep these now and freeze for a quick snack.
Hi Stephanie. Congrats on #4! Hoping this last month goes smoothly for you. Yes, you can freeze these in an airtight container. They should be fine for a month or maybe longer.
Wonderful! This month is a little chaotic but I have a to do list that’s coming along. Thanks so much for responding and for your kind words! 🙂 they are absolutely delicious my whole family loves them and we are down to 4 so I have to whip up some more.
Love these and so easy that my grandson can make them. Was wondering if you could add coconut to them and how much.
Thanks Joyce. Sure, that would be a great addition. I would start out with 1/2 cup of unsweetened shredded coconut and mix that in to see what the results are.
Just wondering how many calories & protein are in each ball?
Hi Joy. Each ball has approximately 125 calories and 5 grams of protein. We have added protein powder to these as well for added protein.
